08/28/2013 - Dog River

1) Errr, the fake mustache disguise is not working.

2) Hahaha. Did you see that silly goose wearing the disguise? I laughed so hard my face turned red.

3) Speaking of Red, fall flowers are starting to bloom. Cooler weather can't be to far away now.

4) One lean flying machine.

5) Mosquito dragons engaged in 69.

6) Pickerelweed and a butterfly.

7) A damselfly getting a neck massage.

8) Another damselfly.

08/25/2013 - Theodore Industrial Canal

1) A heron takeoff is not always a beautiful sight.

2) A little alligator left in Dog River.

3) Old gray beard.

4) Industrial drainage site into Theodore Industrial Canal.

5) The end of Summer is near. Hahahaha.

6) The wind went still as the sailboats started going out to Mobile Bay.

08/21/2013 - Garrows Bend

1) Sunrise at Arlington Park.

2) Ever feel small in life? Like the people you are trying to communicate to can't even see you?

2) A shoreline bird intently watches a Coast Guard helicopter fly by overhead.

3) A young heron eyeballs the kayak with interest.

4) Hey birdbrain - what do you see through those bright orange eyes?

5) A couple of White Ibis hopping along the shoreline driftwood.

6) I wonder if the Government has wasted money on a study yet to see if one pelican yawning makes the other nearby pelicans yawn. If not, there is still money to be wasted.

7) Urban Kayaking in Mobile.

8) Just west of Garrow's Bend are the open waters of Mobile Bay.

08/20/2013 - Mobile Bay

1) Sunrise at Arlington Park

2) A kayaker fishing down at Dog River Bridge

3) My what big eyes you have.

4) US Coast Guard buzzing the Kayak.
5) Dog River Bridge

6) I heard the waves coming before seeing them. The waves were compliments of a passing ship.

7) The western shoreline of Mobile is rather unattractive.

8) It was so humid this morning my glasses stayed fogged up.

9) Rumble in the distance - better head back to Arlington Park.

10) Whew!  Made it back in the knick of time.

08/04/2013 - Perch Creek East

The access to Perch Creek East is McNally Park or along Dauphin Island Parkway on the east side north of the bridge. Both launch sites were trashy which is typical of City of Mobile maintained property. It's really a nice paddle in protected waters and you'll probably never see a boat in the 2-2.5 miles of waterway. I picked up 38 fishing bobbers today pushing my total collection to over 1700 bobbers. The saltmarsh mallow flowers were beautiful.

08/02/2013 - Eslava Creek and Dog River

Scenery on Eslava Creek and Dog River.

1) Mobile's only malfunctioning Litter Trap isn't going to remove this crap.

2) How dense does creek litter have to be before leaders decide that it is time to get it removed?

3) And people pay more for waterfront Property in Dog River to see this?

4) If I was a turtle in Dog River, I'd stay out of the water too.
